SAEKER is currently implementing emergency response, transitional and it will shift to post-conflict development programs from it is main office in El Fasher. The overall long-term goal of SVO’s programs in Darfur is to see Darfur people exercising fundamental rights, accessing basic services and managing their own livelihoods, while participating in an active civil society that is enabling all individuals and communities to move Darfur towards accountable governance, enjoying peace, stability, and security.
With this goal in mind, SVO is working with IDPs, returnee and host communities and authorities to implement high-quality programs, using a capacity building approach. Recognizing that we cannot work alone, SVO as national CP engages in strategic partnerships with UN agencies, private sector donors, civil society and other stakeholders to advocates on key issues of importance to the people of Darfur. In all programs, SVO strives to ensure the inclusion of all community members (women, children, men, youth, elderly and marginalized groups) without regards to race, sex, color, ethnic group and political affiliation. SVO’s Darfur Program focuses on reducing the suffering of displaced and war-affected populations.
